Our on-location shoots and post production edits take place at different locations. Can a remote crew upload files without a Digital Pigeon account or app?

Yes. The Digital Pigeon platform doesn't require a login. Simply create a personalized link for whoever needs it on one of your account pages. Your team can upload footage quickly and securely from anywhere, without the need to log in or create an account.

How does Digital Pigeon protect creative content as it moves through digital space?

The convenience of being able to upload and view content without an account login does not come at the cost of security. By employing several layers of protection, Digital Pigeon makes no compromises when it comes to keeping your files safe.

From the moment they are sent, Digital Pigeon protects your files with end-to-end encryption as standard. We then provide three additional security options to maximise the protection of your data - you can choose to implement all of these, or none at all.

Before any transfer takes place, we give you the option of adding watermarks to protect ownership of your content. You can also eliminate the risk of any unauthorised access by running ReCAPTCHA checks at the receiving end. Finally, you have the option of password protecting the personalised links that you send out to your team.

How quick are the uploads? Will upload speed be affected by the film crew's location?

You would be forgiven for thinking that Digital Pigeon’s multi-layered security protections might result in less than ideal upload speeds. However, because we operate through the global Content Delivery Network (CDN), we are able to provide much faster upload speeds than would be provided by a standard ISP system.

The Digital Pigeon app is capable of transmitting raw footage files upwards of 200GB. The smaller the file, and the closer the recipient, the faster your files will upload. To determine exactly how quickly you will be able to send and receive files, you can use our speed test tool. This provides an accurate speed assessment across multiple regions, including the U.S.A, S.E Asia, Oceania, and Europe.

My team often sends me large video files. Do I have to manually download them?

No. Your crew can send you large, raw, and unedited files through Dropbox or Google Drive. The files are automatically converted to an instant preview format. There is no need to install additional software, or undergo manual downloads. Every member of your team can work from the same source - on the same platform.

We're a huge post-production team - how will I know who has edited what? Can I track the progress of each video?

Of course! Digital Pigeon has worked with some of the biggest film and production studios out there. We know that it often takes an army to produce quality film content - and we've kept this at the front of our minds in the development of our product.

The platform is optimised for multi-party workflows. Video scrubbing and frame stepping are standard features, and frame-by-frame time-coded annotations show you exactly who has changed what, and when.

The Digital Pigeon app lets you track video progress from your phone - so you can track the progress of your videos without having to stay within reach of a laptop or desktop. Because the app also allows you to receive alerts when files have been sent, commented on or edited, you’ll never miss a beat.
